The Social Media Club of Fort Worth recently had its first Tweetup of the year, and this week will bring the first speaking event of 2011. This Wednesday, January 26, the SMCFW will host Giovanni Gallucci, social media and search engine optimization specialist.
Gallucci’s presentation is titled “Trends in Online Video and Social Media,” and it will cover the current state of the online video market; including how consumers access the growing medium. Considering that YouTube alone had over 700 billion video views last year, this is a pretty hot topic for those of us in the social media world.
Here’s the official event post from the SMCFW.org site:
This is an exciting year for online video, with healthy growth and change throughout the online video industry. In 2010 the number of people viewing online videos grew, the amount of video content consumed increased, and the way in which consumers’ accessed content expanded. The implications of this change for marketers, advertisers, pr pros, and content providers are huge. Many struggle with understanding the preferences, expectations and consumers as it relates to online video advertising.
In this presentation on the current state of the online video market, Giovanni Gallucci will use his personal experiences and industry insights to provide a picture of today’s online video consumer and bring you practical tips about how to deliver content effectively. You’ll learn about who is watching, how engaged are they and what has changed over time? Where are we seeing the biggest shifts – long-form or short-form videos? What are consumers telling us they want based upon their viewing habits? How do you get access to this new audience? Find out Wednesday, January 26, from 6-8pm, at Times Ten Cellars!
1100 Foch Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107 (map)
In addition to bringing social media and SEO skills to the table, Gallucci is also recognized as an award-winning new media producer, a successful buzz marketer, author, and he’s also known as an entertaining public speaker.
So, what does he do when he’s not taking to the SMCFW this Wednesday? Take a look at this snippet from Gallucci’s website (gallucci.net):
Today he develops and manages forward-thinking social media marketing and public relations campaigns focused on causes, video/film, music, travel, fashion, and politics. Creating buzz, hosting events, and engaging with users and members of the online press corps for clients, public relations firms, marketers and ad agencies as a gun for hire in the shadows of the internet is where @giovanni operates as a social media operative.
Other areas of expertise provided by Giovanni include on-site training, community building, online brand reputation management, online training, online public relations, new media strategies, online viral marketing, public speaking, online video optimization and marketing, and search engine optimization.
Through partnerships and certifications with leading companies and organizations on the web including Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, the Social Media Club, SEMPO, DFWIMA, and others, Giovanni Gallucci works with each client to develop effective community-based online marketing solutions. Giovanni and his team of online marketing experts offer comprehensive advisory services to define strategy, improve conversions, increase communications, build online brands and improve client relationships.
Needles to say, he’s a busy, busy man. I’m really psyched that he’s taking some time to educate us in the DFW area on social/video trends, and I hope if you’re reading this, that you come on out and hear what he has to say (I think we all might learn a thing or two)! If you haven’t been to a SMCFW event yet, this would be a great time to start — take a glance at the Attendee List and see if you recognize a familiar name in the social scene (hint: Social Media Explorer).
